"Slips and Trips"
In association with Surface Control, Centaur are now able to provide a unique system of measuring the condition of hard surface flooring in a variety of environments including hospitals, retail and industry.
Our Slip Guardian system differs from others in that it is many times faster than the current pendulum devices traditionally used to measure slippery conditions of a floor surface.
It also provides an instant electronic report advising on the condition of the surface and solutions to rectify potential hazards.

Keytrainer of the Year Award 2009
The 2009 award goes to Peter Sutton a support carer from Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Peter qualified as a Centaur keytrainer five years ago and has since then gone on to deliver numerous moving and handling training sessions within his trust. He has been awarded this year’s prize in recognition of his hard work and determination to make the courses he delivers as interesting as possible.
For the first time this year Centaur also issued the National Keytrainer System of the Year Award to Jeanette Kelly the moving and handling training coordinator on behalf of Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This award is in recognition of the thirty five strong network of moving and handling keytrainers running courses throughout both main sites of the trust over the past five years.
Both awards were presented by our Managing Director Mark Davidson on the 7th July 09.

Following the presentation we received this comment from Catherine Beardshaw, Chief Executive at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
"Working with Centaur Training has really improved the way we deliver manual handling training within this Trust. They are very professional in their approach and are extremely supportive to our key trainers. I have no hesitation in recommending them to any other healthcare provider".

Risk Assessment Consultancy – “going well”
Our senior training adviser (Janet Hunt) has had fantastic results from the Risk Assessments carried out, the most recent being at Mandeville School in Ealing. A brief description of the service is that Janet (who has more than 30 years experience working with children with
profound learning difficulties) directly assesses a childs’ needs with regard to equipment, moving & handling techniques and enablement issues, after which we provide a very comprehensive ‘Individual Pupil Assessment’ to the school. Christine Marks, Head Teacher commented “Janet has just spent 4 successful days with us, she was extremely helpful, informative and pragmatic”
Theatre Courses go from strength to strength
On the back of our previous ‘Perioperative Manual Handling & Patient Positioning’ courses held last year we returned to the Hereford site to deliver another 3 day programme. The course
was held over the weekend of 8th – 10th February 2008 and early indications show that this was a well received and most enjoyable event. More information can be found directly by clicking here. Due to the continued popularity of the course we may well inform you of future programmes via ‘Back Issues’
